The origins of Salamat tribe go back to Salim bin Mansour bin Ikrimah, and it is considered an Arab tribe of origins, attributing to its pastoral nature that migrated to Africa and settled in Libya in the north and Niger in the west. It came to Sudan and settled in Central Darfur in Um Dukhun, South Darfur in Rehad Elbardi and Buram Al-Nadeef, and it is also found in West Kordofan, in ELfula.
